Chemical Properties
Pale yellow crystalline powder. Melting point 182-182°C (decomposition). Slightly soluble in ethanol, very slightly soluble in water. Stable in air, dimming in colour when exposed to light, easily destroyed in alkaline solution. The preparation adsorbed in calcium carbonate is yellow-brown dry powder. Chemicalbook hydrochloride is yellow crystalline powder, odourless, slightly bitter taste. Melting point 190-194 ℃, at room temperature for a long time without deterioration, no failure. Soluble in water and methanol, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in chloroform, ether. Its aqueous solution is stable under acidic conditions and unstable under alkaline conditions.

Indications
Mainly used for the prevention and treatment of livestock and poultry E. coli, Salmonella infections (such as calf dysentery, lamb dysentery, yellow and white diarrhoea in piglets, paratyphoid fever in young animals, etc.), Bartonella, Borrelia burgdorferi infections, and porcine wheezing disease, chronic respiratory disease in chickens; also commonly used in the treatment of rickettsial Chemicalbook body disease in dogs, infectious anaemia in cats, prevention of chlamydiosis and Spirochetes junctivus in dogs; locally used for the treatment of endometritis and tissue inflammation caused by Bacillus necrotizing bacteria. It is also used for the treatment of endometritis and tissue necrosis caused by necrotising bacillus; oxytetracycline is used as feed licking agent to promote the growth and improve the feed conversion rate; the antibacterial spectrum and antibacterial principle of oxytetracycline are basically the same as that of tetracycline. Bacteria are cross-resistant to tetracycline, oxytetracycline and gentamycin. The efficacy of this product on intestinal infections (including amoebic dysentery) is slightly better than that of gentamycin and tetracycline, and other indications are the same as those of tetracycline.
