Base

Ethyl acetate, also known as ethyl acetate, is a compound formed by replacing the hydroxyl group in acetic acid with an ethoxy group. Its structural formula is CH₃COOCH₂CH₃. Pure ethyl acetate is a colorless, transparent liquid with an aromatic odor. Its melting point is -83.6°C, boiling point is 77.06°C, relative density (water = 1) is 0.894-0.898, and relative vapor density (air = 1) is 3.04. It has a strong, ethereal odor, a clear, slightly fruity, wine-like aroma that diffuses easily but is short-lived. It is slightly soluble in water but soluble in most organic solvents, including alcohols, ketones, ether, and chloroform. Ethyl acetate is a widely used fine chemical product with excellent solubility and quick drying properties. It is a very important organic chemical raw material and an excellent industrial solvent, widely used in the production of cellulose acetate, ethyl cellulose, chlorinated rubber, vinyl resin, cellulose acetate resin, synthetic rubber, coatings, and paints.
