Base

Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) is an important optically transparent plastic with advantages such as high transparency, good impact resistance, light weight, low cost, and environmental friendliness. It is a widely used glass substitute. PMMA’s biggest advantage is its excellent optical properties, hence its common name “acrylic glass.” This is mainly because it is an amorphous polymer with a uniform texture. The arrangement of its internal molecules does not affect the speed at which light passes through all parts of the tube, allowing light to travel at the same speed without scattering or interfering with each other.
